bout to buy me a 4dr EF and i was wondering if the gauge cluster from an EF w/tach is a direct plug in cause the one thas in the car doesn't have a tach?

 

Yes its a direct plug in as long as you get the right years.. If you have an 88-89 get a 88-89 cluster and same for 90-91

 

not necessarily true, i gave someone an 88 crx hf cluster to put in their 88 hatch and the tach didn't work...and it worked in my crx...so i don't know about that. we tried looking at the back and comparing them, if you know anything about the electronics on the back of the cluster (where and what things are) you could rig one up...)
