Thinking of getting this R32 for summer, what do you think?
I guess you could say im a Civic *****, ive owned 3 of them and have had another one in the family since it was bought new in 1990. I love Hondas and I dont want to sell my current car at all cause I know I will regret it. So im toying with the idea of getting a summer car come spring and using my EF as my winter car. Theres nothing wrong with it, infact theres no rust what so ever, and it runs perfect its just that I want a sports car again...somthing thats a little different that everything else around my area. Heres the car im kinda thinking of getting, or if not this one then another one like it.

Its a 1989 R32 Skyline GTR with 132,000KMs. For $14.5k Canadian. I could get a GST-T R32 for about 6k Canadian, but why would I pass up AWD and TT when I have the money.

I've talked to a couple R32 owners that regret buying them. They are difficult and expensive to register and find parts for. A guy in Texas traded his S2K and another car plus cash for one. Then he got a cracked windshield and never could find a replacement. He ended up putting plexiglass on it. You run into a lot of those problems with these cars. I'd have to think long and hard about getting one.

Yeah, thats one thing I have looked into. Registering a Skyline in Canada is about as easy as insuring a 1995 Honda Civic, our laws are why there are so many JDM car importers here. I know of about 5 Skyline import shops in the Vancouver area. Tha main one being SCI Motors wich has all body parts, and repair parts I could ever want and or need should the time come. SCI has sold over 150 Skylines alone, I see them more often each day. Well not GTRs, but GTS-Ts.

Are you joking? You must be! The R33 is an ugly expletive. My ideal Skyline would be the front and rear of an R34 on an R32, for weight reasons. The R34 front is just so badass! skeet skeet

I dont really like the front and rear on the R33. The R34 is the best Skyline IMO though.

Troo that. All three of these cars are for sale on the internet. All 3 posted are GT-R's.

That one is ¥1,098,000.
Here is a cheaper one:

¥898,000
And one more for good faith:

Same price of ¥898,000
This site sells so many Japanese used cars it's ridiculous:

So are these cars already in the states then? Or is that co. in Japan and you'll still need to import? Kind of interested in getting one
And does anyone know the diffs between the Canada vs USA regarding import/registration laws?

They are still in Japan, but they have very good shipping rates.
Considering the last two R32 GT-R's I posted amount to about $7,500 US dollars, the OP buying a $14,000 GT-R is crazy. Shipping won't be over $1,000 to the US.
(Registration in the US is a different story though
)

Im not in Japan, im in Canada. And that 14.5KCDN is what I would pay and then drive it home. Theres no shipping or inspection fees to deal with. That is if is passes, but if it doesnt I will need to fix whatever problems are on the car before I can insure it.

They have some nice Hondas on there.

R32's wouldn't be worth it if you ask me. The hassle of getting parts and repairing it. Too much BS for me. Would this be a daily or just a weekend car? Not to mention I think the R32's are pretty ugly.
