ok my balance shaft seal is leaking i was reading that honda had a recall on it for preludes mines a 97 base but i hear now that its closed how the f**k can you close a recall??? i work at a chrysler dealer and recalls are open forever!!! they dont close. how can i find out for sure about this ?

 

well, your car is eight, almost nine years old. recalls close after a while because they can legally claim that the failure on the part is due to age/wear.

if you haven't gotten it done by now, too bad.

 

i think it was a volutary service update or something. it's more like a courtesy to you rather than a safety issue, hence why it was only around for a few yrs.
