Hello.
Are there any other possibilities for AISI 1018.
I wanted to take that instead of stainless because of a few problems in the past.
Unfortunatly that material is nearly not available here in Germany(Din number 1.1157) or just available as round material but not as flat steel.
Any suggestions?
Shall be used for head flanges, Turbofalnges and WGflanges.

i'd go to a local metal supplier and ask there what they might suggest for cold rolled mild steel. not sure what would be the equivalent in europe... i know japan has a whole completely different numbering/designation system from na for steel.

Yes, in Germany we also have a completely different designation system.
Trough the ingresients of AISI 1018 I found the equívalent (DIN 1.1157 - 40MN4)
But that seem to be available just in round materials and not in flat.
The other thing is that no supplier here don´t help you if you don´t give the correct number. Nobody here makes suggestions.

Yes that chart can help. Meanwhile got a book with many more of such charts.
What are the basics to decide what material to take for a headflange?
Think other materials should also work for headflanges.
But how can I decide if it is good or bad for that?

I think the primary thing to consider is heat expansion. The more it expands, the better chance of breaking bolts and such. Low expansion is desireable (as far as i know).
Lower price doesn't hurt either
