Default OEM Shocks/Springs

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISA...47060

I am the "lucky" winner of the auction and just have a question. I recieved what is pictured - their description says "Tokico Illumina" but I think they are just stock? If they are 5-way adjustable like Illumina should be, where is the adjustment part?

Thanks

if you are asking me..i think the owner of got the aftermarket shocks and install it on his car, he pack the OEM shocks back to the tokico box and send it to "i sold it" to sell it, the dumbass works there automatically thinks the shocks are what they described on the box.

they are OEM shocks, the adjustable one have **** on it, and they are white and red.

you could tell the dude writing it up on i sold it didn;t know a jack **** about car, measuring the over all height of the spring means nothing, and the "paint" on the coil is the inspection marks.

you know what you could do if you are really ****?

you pay for it and when the stock shock came, you can sue them for misleading advertisement

but neither way, they are cheap for a set of shock anyway

Default OEM Shocks/Springs

Yeah I already got them today but what you said is exactly what I think happened. And I know what ebay will say - pay to ship it back to get my money back screw that. Dumass Isoldit.

Did they change the auction? The title says "OEM Stock 2002" and the description says "You are bidding on a set 4 Stock 2002 Honda Accord EX V-6 Shock Absorbers and Springs. These parts have a mere 20 miles put on them before being swapped for aftermarket parts the day the car was purchased."

The box in the picture says Tokico, but the seller (the person who dropped them off) just put the OEM in that box.

If they didn't change the auction description, which I don't think they can do after there's been a bid, I don't understand what the confusion is.

i could tell that was a scam just by how much it's selling for. we are talking about shocks here, which are on of the most important parts of a car. you really can't go cheap on this one.

on another note, has anyone bought the honda performance sports suspension springs for the 7th generation accord v6's? they are selling for $450 and supposedly stiffen the ride and lower the car about 1". i'm seriously thinking about buying a set because the suspension set up i have right now is super smooth, but all i want to get rid of some of the wheel gap, but not too much to ruin the ride quality.

The confusion is this:

Like you said the title says "OEM Stock 2002" but in the description it says:

Parts include:
- 2 28" Long Black Tokico Illumina Gas High Performance Gas Pressurized Shock Absorbers (parts have a few small marks, but are in good working order)
- 2 21" Long Black Tokico Illumina Gas High Performance Gas Pressurized Shock Absorbers (parts have a few small marks, but are in good working order)

Which they are not. So I am guessing it was some 40 year old lady at Isoldit that does descriptions who just wrote what it says on the boxes. Not a bad deal regardless though right?

If you actually needed them, and are satisfied with what you got, it's a great price. Even for stock shocks.

.......and yet some in here get all warm and fuzzy when I warn of EBay transactions. If you went thru PayPal, you may have some recourse. I would at least attach a poor report to the sellers rating score
You may not (ultimately) get full satisfaction from this, but you'd make it harder for some future innocent from getting burned as well.

Well to be honest, I would have liked to recieve Tokico but I guess if they were Tokico they would never sell at that price. I did use paypal, but I know what they will say - pay to send it back to recieve a full refund - not worth it. Is there any sense in replacing springs or can old stock springs be used on new stock shocks? Also my back shocks are fine I guess but I want to replace them anyway to get feeling of a new car suspension. Any cons to doing all this?

has anybody used these springs before? i'm thinking of putting them in my 06 accord. i believe the suspension set-ups are exactly the same so the 05 version should fit.

dude, thank you for hi-jacking someone's post.

go make your own post please, it's easy as abc.

"I sold it" is a company, i highly doubt it was a scam, i think the idoit works there just don't know a smack about car. anyone looking for illumina with half a brain will know it's damn white and looks nothing like that picture.

i mean, it's a damn good price even for used oem shock, the gabriel POS cost 50 per piece

While I am replacing all 4 shocks, do you think I should replace the old 4 springs also? Or is there no point in this? Do springs get any worse with age? The car has 140k and I have no idea if anything has been changed since factory.

Springs, like anything else will fatigue over the course of time, and if this were a domestic, (GM / Ford etc), I'd strongly suggest replacing the springs and struts at the same time (considering milage).
Yet, I've (to this point) not seen a Honda break at spring. I'd suggest this:
1) If you never want to do the job ever again: YES
2) If you want to take advantage and install some lowering springs: YES
3) If you're on a strict budget, and willing to take the chance: NO

That's pretty much it
