so to convert offset to backspacing....

i took 8 inches converted it to mm = 203.2
so the wheel is 203.2mm wide.

half is 101.6mm
so from the backside to the center its 101.6mm.

i substracted 13mm because its a positive offset = 88.6mm
so its 88.6mm from the back of the center disc to the back of the wheel.

convert mm to in = 3.488inches

so i'd need a wheel with a 3-3.5" backspace to achieve a +13mm offset.

did i do my math correct???

Or you could have some factory steelies widened.

you want 4.5-5 inch backspace with 15x8

my cal. 8"/2 = 4

4x25.4=101.6

101.6+13mm= 114.6

114.6 / 25.4= 4.5118.........

3-3.5 would be rollerskating

I don't know how to do all of the math, but I know that I have two sets of 15x8's that have 3.5" backspacing and their offset is -30. So 4.5-5" of backspacing sounds about right to me too.

look on VWvortex. I have seen many sets of wheels widened. Lots of the guys there know where to get the best deals. they have been doing this for years,.... and most places can help with the math. I was gonna go with widened steelies for my MK2. Can look good when done right... but to be honest... just not sure how good it would look on a Honda

Loos like the civic in the pic snagged a set of BBSs... VERY SPENDY and got some Kodiac lips thrown on... again those are expensive too

Yes my BBSs have Kodiak lips and they aren't cheap. dubgray's MK2 posted above has Corrado steelies widened to 8" believe. I've seen that car in person and it's immaculate.
