Default Going to iraq- Looking for help with a build..

So I am leaving for iraq sometime this year. Sorry cant give a date... Which means bank for me!!
Anyways i am looking to build me a motor that will do 400+ on pump and i want it to be very very reliable. It will be a daily driver...
So help me build a motor. You guys guide me along with which parts i should purchase... So far i have in mind...
Dart B18 block
B16 head
No as far as internals i am not sure i was thinking
Pauter Rods and CP pistons Which crank? Will stock be ok?
Also im not very familiar with heads who makes the best valvetrain?

4. HeadGames ported head (b18,16 either one)
5. Ferrea or Manley valvetrain (which ever money allows)
6. Full-Race GT35 prostreet kit
7. Jeff Evans Tuned Neptune

Have you been down range before watch out for taxes later.. You might not have to pay taxes on the loot now but trust me the government will come looking for their money later.. Keep that in mind before spending it all

It pays very, very big $. A close friend did six months in Bagdad.
And you get to learn/do exciting things. Such as how to make your own RotoRooter tool by wiring two knives to a pipe to clear the exposed, gravity fed sewage pipes because big turds don't like to make 90 degree bends easily. And how to make/patch tires from the remains of other tires due to bullets, bombs, etc. Climb utility pole to repair electrics w/ hand tools and no protection.

In all seriousness, it's also dangerous and this person should be complimented for going, regardless of the money.

I reread his original post and understand your comment even though I didn't take it that way.

Assuming he makes it back, he will be able to afford his dream engine and is smartly asking before purchasing parts and services. Such as your recommending a sleeved block vs the Dart. I agree it's a better and more economical choice for his desires. Yours and others good advice will help him regardless of his financial position.

I could care less what you think about my duty in the military.
I have been overseas enough. **** i got spit on for being military. Im sure you can do no worse..
Anyways the only reason i posted that was because it means ill come back with 15k+ so i can play a little and wanted to learn about various parts..
I want to learn as much as i can before purchasing parts. I don't wanna throw some parts together and hope i make power.

Don't worry man, Its honda-tech. That means its full of pretty much all ******** cept for the few. Just follow what head said here and you shouldn't have any problem!

Hey im coming back from out here in the sand box... always gotta see whats new in the FI industry...Since being out here all of 2005 I now want redo things to my car so yes it is a good question to get your thoughts together and figure out what you want to do. Just keep in mind well your out here don't buy until you get close to getting back. two reason's I say this is because prices drop and products change. Oh and for the people think he's just searching for recognition. Stuff it, Maybe you should be fighting for our country and not trying to fight on HT...SSG Nido OUT~~

In iraq just about done my tour man. Best words of advice get on internet and research whole time your here and buy at the end. Almost everyone out here bought stuff way to early and ended up wanting different things. Good luck man come replace me haha

send the block to Earl, bensons doing this 3.5k block resleeved and built to handle 700hp.. more than enough for the street.

This is the end to my third tour out here, 11 months 2 weeks down ...1 1/2 to go..ahah Best thing to do out here is keep your mind busy and dont dawn to much on whats happening around you. Think of the gun shots and bombs as backfires out of a car..ahaha Well im redueing my car from ground up and have it sitting at my house..My garage and living room are full of parts and engines. Itll be a fun welcome home.

Thanks guys... So guys what block should i go with? And will a sleeved block handle a **** load of horsepower.. I want like 400 daily driven and throw some c16 and make close to 600 or 650.

Yes, the sleeved stock block will safely/reliably handle what you want to make.
