More power?
ok so heres my setup:
Portflow P&P head
titanium retainers
Toda Spec C cams
Toda cam gears
Toda valve springs
CTR .25 pistons
rc 310 injectors
aem fuel rail
fidanza aluminum flywheel
act hdss clutch
dc jdm 4-1 header
SMSP 2.5" Testpipe
SMSP custom 2.5" ss cat back exhaust
injen short ram intake
hondata standalone management
Made power till 9K, great tune (Jeff Evans)
I am making 192 wheel with 140 ft/lbs of torque... (power is low with those cams because of header... ordering SMS soon )
Ok so I am ordering a SMS header when I get the money and going to get a retune. Basically what I am thinking is that I wanna keep the engine 1.8L. I can expect about 210-215 wheel with the header. What else do you all reccommend to do before getting tuned to make the most power I can out of my motor.
Full Race IM? 65 mm TB? (gotta get both I know if i get one)
What about injector size and fuel pump, intake then (will I need bigger)
I am not trying to kill myself with power. More like a personal goal to hit 230 wheel in a 1.8L. Nitrous is a no go so please dont reccommend that.
Thanks guys. I have done some research, just wanted other opinions.

I have to say that TB is not where it is at. I tried different combos and TB had no impact on power +/- 2whp, dyno can make that much error.
For comparison purposes S2000 has 62mm and makes 200WHP+, if you get couple whp at that level I would not expect more.
TSX makes 180WHP with 60mm TB, people tried 62/64 and gained nothing, anyway.
Full race IM is too big for your setup IMHO.
Just to give you some reference I have B18c1 with 11.5 comp and BC3+ cams. 62mm tb (did not gain anything...) blox IM and JDM type R header with stock USDM type R cat back (test pipe)
I keep making around 185WHP and 130TQ. (sometimes 182 sometmes 187) dynoed it few times to tune (crome).
I have seen all kind of dynos, and I even know of some that are very close to my setup and make under 190WHP with same cams and SMSP headers on 2.5" cat back.
Sometimes dyno numbers make no sense that get posted around, sometimes it is a great working combo that does make great power, but if you think that your setup will get 20WHP from header change, I would be surprised.
I agree that SMSP will take you to the max as far as headers go, but it might not be as simple as bolt on and re-tune.
I think that you should be making more power from your current setup. Toda C and and CTR pistons, ported head... I don't know header or no header you should be over 200whp.
Your tq peak looks strong, but really without dyno plot I am just taking a shot in the dark...
Then again your dyno migh read low, so you are maybe already at 210WHP on a different dyno, so these numbers might not add up...
Anyway just my opinion, anything is possible...

Well I was talking to someone the other day that had experience with my setup and was saying they gained more power from race IM and Bigger TB. If you get one you gotta get the other.
As for my power... the header is too small for the cams and I am actually losing potential power right now. My tuner should me a dyno plot of the same build as mine (more or less) with the DC header, and then the SMSP header re-tune and it actually made like 21 more wheel or something. I saw it with my own eyes.
As for my current power, I dunno why I am not making 200 wheel. I have a feeling the header is just holding me back some, plus it has a dent.
I looked up the injectors I have and stock fuel pump and they both should be good for about 230 or so wheel. I dont have the dyno plot of i would post it up.

Well dent can do that, I know first hand. Depending on the dent it can amount to plugged up exhaust, so everything is out of the window, put new header and re-tune.
If I was in your place I would not change a thing other than the header, go re-tune and see what happens. This would really be interesting to se how much that held you back...
I would not spend much time running with one/two primaries dented, it can change your AFR quite a bit so you might have lean and rich cylinders since you can not tune them independently...
It is true that running around with plugged up exhaust does make good TQ

haha its not that bad of a dent... i bought the R wiht it already like that. just pushed in a bit, typical of most slight header dents. But even if my peak horsepower wasn't 200, I am dam happy with 140 ft lbs haha. Hopefully the header will get me over 200 and close to 150. we will see. ya never know.
This is with a 60mm TB, b16 manifold, ctr pistons, JDM 4-1 header, and ctr cams.
