timing belt installation
i plan on installing a new timing belt(&water pump) in my crx hf this christmas, i've got the helms manual, i am just wondering the degree of difficulty? anyone have any tips? if i put it on wrong will it bend my valves?
It can be difficult since you are doing it in such a tight space. You will have to remove the driverside motor mount to get the belts on and off. I found it difficult to put the belt on wrong if I followed the how-to in the helms manual. Just take your time and follow the instructions in the manual and you should be good to go.
Yeha I did my T-belt for the first time over the summer, If you just follow the instructions you will be fine. Take your time though, I took from 10Am to 3AM doing it, but i liked working alone so i could go as slow as I wanted. One word of advice though, get a cank pulley bolt removal tool to save youself the headach of having to improvise. Good luck bro
You can do, just get a impact wrench to remove cranch pulley or a special tool. just make sure you line up the arrows. Its pretty easy. Just tight space.
