Having trouble deciding on a color. I'm pretty sure I want FBP, but I'm toying with the idea of CW... What color do you think would look good?

 

im sorry, but i dont see anything wrong with the color of your car...if the money is burning a hole in your pocket so bad, you can hook me up since my car got stolen and i dont have a car...if you HAVE to paint it, and i assume that youre getting it done professionally, paint it the same color unless youre planning on stripping it all down, taking the motor out, etc...i think its a waste when people paint their car a diff. color and dont do it right...bottom line, i like you car, it seems that since you got it, youre doing good things with it...im sure youll make the right choice

 

Have you tried any paint-saving techniques on the old stuff yet? The paint doesn't really look that bad, unless there's some stuff we can't see...(I know, I responded to your other post too, but looking at it now made me wonder if the paint looks that bad...)

The only problem I see is the swirls on the door, but with some patience and elbow grease it'll make it look 100% better! I tried Meguiars Scratch-X on my FBP coupe on some deep scratches on the hood, and they didn't dissappear, but all the swirls around them sure did!!! Give it a shot (what's the worst that could happen?), and if you're still not happy, get it painted. I'd stick with black.

Your paint looks like it is pretty nice shape. I would save that $ until it gets really bad.

(edit) well it's raining right now so the pics will have to wait, but the paint on the hood, roof, and front bumper are horrible, almost nonexistant it's faded so much. And the guy who owned the car before me had a bike rack on the roof which scratched the roof up bad, and put quite few MAJOR dents in the roof. Also, he tried to put the sunroof back with the bike rack on, so the sunroof was messed up and dug tracks into the roof

If you look closely you can just barely see the dents above the windows and there is a very large, through-the-paint scuff across the entire front bumper...

Yep, sounds about bad enough for my standards... Black would be the easiest and/or cheapest route to go, since you won't necessarily need to paint the engine bay or doorjambs. It'll also look good. I have a red CRX, that I wish was white, but when I get it painted I'm just going to get a nicer shade of red put on, maybe the red from the 99-00 Si's...I believe that was Milano Red?

Go with the FBP, it'll be cheaper and easier.

blacks too hard to keep clean - how about a nice red, im thinking Aston Martin Red, its very deep. Check it out
