Default So, P30s are rare, what other piston choices for B18C1 (GSR / B18C)

Added the description in the title so it's easier to search...

Anyways...apparently P30s are becoming difficult to acquire and was my ideal choice for my rebuild for my B18C1.

What are the other piston recommendations that don't exceed 12:1 CR? I'm looking around 11.0:1 up to 11.8:1. Something that can still run 91octane and hopefully net me 200whp with a usable powerband (assuming everything else is up to spec).

This will be oversized pistons as well.

This is for a road race/time trial/autocross engine/car setup.

Thanks in advance

sounds like you're looking for an OEM cast piston. pr3 (USDM b16) or ITR would both fit your needs.

P73-00

JDM ITR pistons will get you the desired compression.

PR3 pistons, shave head .010

I couldnt find P30 pistons when i was building my GSR , so thats what i did to get the right compression i wanted

you can get them from HONDA very easily, or Topline Automotive. I have used the TOPLINE pistons in 5 builds, never had any problems

JDM ITR (P73-00) or USDM b16 (pr3) they have almost the same dome, run a thinner head gasket and get your head milled if necessary to get the compression ration you are lookin for

Ha ha funny you should say that. I was on the phone with the tech from Topline today explaining the differences between an obd-2 oil pump and a obd-1 and he asked for a honda part #. I asked him how much stuff they make for Honda and lets just say it was alot! It was pretty funny and then I told him he probably shouldn't tell me that! oh well sorry to hijack your post....

I originally ordered them from JHP... but they told me they were out of stock... having me make another choice.

then they got a bunch in today. so... I got OS P30s now.
