Default need swap help/answers fast

i have a 90 civic hatch, i just bought what i was told was a ZC motor. it completely slipped my mind at the time, but it turns out its a d16a1. i looked on the front of the block and did not see an engine code (because it was on the back)...so i was just like....hhmmm..weird. all i saw was a 1.6 (too small to be 1.8) d series (what else would it have been) honda motor. anyways, it was $50, and i have 2 complete zc heads, one of which is port/polished. my question is, which mounts line up (if any), also, do any stock honda/acura motor mounts happen to bolt up to make the engine fit correctly. i cant find much info about d16a1's, much less swapping them into something else. but if you put a zc head/IM and pistons on a d16a1, you basically have a zc, so i figure i should try to go for it. ive bought many things for this swap and im not getting this far just to stop now, please, someone, anyone...ask around and find this out for me. everyone around here is into mustangs and camaros so this is my only hope.

one last thing, is there any way to safely resurface or buff out lobes on camshafts, there are a few friction spots on 2 of my cams (im assuming from where it was burning oil, combustion chambers/valves/ports are filthy black. and head gasket was blown) please respond asap, even if you dont know, just to keep this going. im sure im not the only one whose questioned this.

The d16a1 needs custom mounts to work in 88-91 cars..And you say the engine code stamp was on the back of the block,, that would make it an 86-87 browntop motor which means its 113hp and vacuum advance. Its just not worth the time or money to do that swap.Alot of people that build all motor sohc setups use the dome pistons from them..So I'm sure you can sell them and make your money right back..

The D16a1 does however bolt into the 84-87 civic/crx cars..

wow thats great...really wasnt planning for this ****. mounts i can get made...as far as that goes, im using the tranny thats in my car...so would i have to get ALL new custom mounts, or could i reuse some of the tranny mounts or what. and what is vaccum advanced? i have a lot of stuff laying around that i could probably use to take care of that if its a problem...sounds like it would be something on the intake manifold if i had to guess..which i am..?

believe me...113 is well worth the swap compared to the like..60 im getting out of the POS thats sitting in my car right now. not to mention the port polish zc head/IM i have..and the pistons that im gonna put in when i switch the heads out. i just need a motor thats better than a d15b2..not even to race a lot...just to have a reliable pos..instead of a sluggish pos that makes me nervous.

It won't work with your tranny..When I said vacuum advance I was reffering to the type of distributor it has..88 and up have electronic advance..

god this is a headache....ok....i have a plan..lemme know if it would work, i dont see why it shouldnt. if i use the internals from the d16a1 block, use the actual (bare) block from a dohc zc motor, use my tranny, use the distributor i bought that supposedly came off of a jdm crx...(no way of verifying it, i bought it on ebay, not from the guy i bought the motor from) and use an ecu from a 90-91 integra (i have four of them)

i was trying to avoid having to buy new head bolts and stuff (by not having to remove the head) but i have every other peice to a zc laying around..may as well just put a zc in my car now..this is crap...so much for a $50 motor swap

if you know anyone with a zc bare block (cable tranny, dohc) tell them i will...be their best friend, and give them some stuff worth more than the cost of the block...an ecu and alternator or something...i have so much spare stuff laying around..except for the spare stuff i actually need..
