DC2 is all B18C G3 2 Door Integras.

DC4 is all non B18C G3 2 Dr Integras (I think?).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

EF = 88-91 Civic hatchback (i think it started from 88)
EG = 92-95 Civic hatchback
EK = 96+ Civic hatchback
DC2 = 94-01 Integra GSR/Type R (coupe)
DC4 = 94-01 Integra nonVTEC (coupe)
DB7 = 94-01 Integra nonVTEC (sedan)
DB8 = 94-01 Integra GSR/Type R (sedan)

EF9 = 4th gen Civic SiR
EF8 = 4th gen CR~X SiR
DA = 3dr 2nd gen teg HB
EK4 = 6th Civic SiR HB
EK9 = 6th gen Civic R HB
EM1 = your local hotshot in a 6th gen Civic Si coupe

u can find the code in your vin number

There ya go. The break down for canadian models is the same but the serial number starts with an 8.

FYI the check digit allows Acura or whoever understands how they've set it up to make sure that the VIN is genuine. The 2 in your example somehow reflects the sum or some other combination of the other numbers in your VIN if someone tried to make up a VIN it could be checked by looking at their check digit to make sure it matched the mathematical relationship of the other digits. Okay that's probably more confusing thank helpful. sorry hope it makes some sense.
