FYI the check digit allows Acura or whoever understands how they've set it up to make sure that the VIN is genuine. The 2 in your example somehow reflects the sum or some other combination of the other numbers in your VIN if someone tried to make up a VIN it could be checked by looking at their check digit to make sure it matched the mathematical relationship of the other digits. Okay that's probably more confusing thank helpful. sorry hope it makes some sense.
