Race Question
I have a 91 CRX HF with the no horsepower D15 in it. I Race my CRX every friday night at a dirt track here. I bought the car out of a junkyard for 250 bucks (started up as soon as i changed the plugs and plug wires and put a battery in it) and all i had to do was find a radiator for it. We are in the offseason now and i am going to put a different motor in, because as light and as well the crx handled, we just didnt have enough power to win. We race on a 1/4 mile clay oval, and i basically want some opinions on best bang for your buck motor. I am really close to buying a JDM ZC, but before i would really like to know what you guys think. I want a DOHC motor, but am not sure which one. I need something that makes most of its power in between 45 and 80 mph, because those are the only speeds we go. I have also considered the B18B, and B16A. I would really like to see how the power curve is on these motors. Another question is gearing issues, the transmission we have is not aggressive enough. Any input would be great!!! Sorry if i wrote a novel for this post and sorry if it seems like a noob question. I have been lurking the website for quite some time. Also if anyone has any ideas on suspension setups for going fast and turning left let me know.
This is actually a really good question you have here, and I'm sure you can get some help from the lads over in the RR/Auto-X forum as well, they have a couple rally guys.
- Things I would assume you would need: LSD, Power over Torque, and extended durability, correct?

Yeah those things would be awesome to have, but as of right now we are kind of just looking or the bare minimum (motor and tranny swap) and then building from there to see what we need to change.
