Default Is there supposed to be play in your axel?

I have a h22 in my accord and I had drive shaft shop make custom axles. Well the shaft can be moved a little back and forth between the cv joints. Is that normal? I keep ripping inner boots. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There should be some place. Not really more than 1/4".
If you keep having problems, and talk to drive shaft, they can normally re-make it with a slightly longer shaft -if needed.
Try to measure the amount of play with the wheels straight and the wheels loaded (meaning have the weight on the wheels), then contact driveshaft shop.
