I've been lurking on this and the other s2k forum for a couple of months now, and I am close to pulling the trigger on an ap2. I've come across a couple of posts though saying something to the effect of the honda hard tops not being produced anymore. Is this a temporary thing? Not being able to buy a hard top would be a big deal for me since i'm in the northeast and I'd really like one for the winter time.

Also...sidenote, is $25k for a '05 with 6,000 miles a good price?

 

The hardtop factory has has some issues. Honda is outsourcing the hardtops right now. They are only made in batches and there is a long time period between batches.

 

ah I see....so they aren't going to stop making them, it's just going to be a bit harder to get them. thanks.

 

they have to make a new batch because of the new Laguna Blue Pearl color.

the question is just, when and how many will they make.

 

If im not mistaken, someone got word from the parts department at their dealership that people that want a hardtop from the dealership better start grabbing them up, because their gonna be VERY hard to find soon.

they've been hard to find for the past year...... there was a fire in the main factory where the hardtops were being produced... ever since supplies have been limited... and honda has been sourcing out the manufacturing of the hardtops.....

if you can find one.. jump on it.... otherwise go for the mugen or seibon

also, do not pay a dealer retail for it. that is just absurd

rumor has it that their will be an OEM version 2 coming soon...Im not sure how legit that is though

JsAP1 on s2ki has been saying it...that guy knows his crap, so i would think its a valid statement.

 

honda isnt selling anymore spa yellow hard tops anymore though
