What kind of HP increase with a cam on D16Z6?
First off , I have only a WS2 exhaust , and soon an AEM intake. Would a cam be a waste of money? What kind of increase would I be looking at for a mild cam? And what brands should I check? I've looked at a few , but I seem to like the Skunk2 stuff. Or should I just stop drinking while I'm looking on the net?
I agree with the not drinking while surfing the web but I wouldn't expect any drastic changes in power with just a cam on a single slam. If your looking to make big power you should look into a turbo set up or something!

i have a zex(comp cams) cam and love it never had any issues and you can get it for 200 bucks not a bad way for 10hp and 10 ft-lbs on a STOCK engine
i saw a thing on here a couple of days ago its an akmee cam it puts you to 139 whp it comes with cam camgear springs retainers its only 500 something search it its pretty bad ***.. stock motor also

skunk2 is good enough. my friend has some skunk2 stage 2 cams with new valvetrain and chipped ecu and he's running 13's all day. only bolt on is exhaust..

i dont what you are talking about, they did a test where they dropped the cam into an I/H/E d16z6 and made 14hp and 9 ft-lbs of torque, lets not post bullshit

mild cam. um, without the specs and numbers, your question is too vague so heres a vague answer.

I used to run a Skunk2 cam in my car...it helped give the car more top end and mid-range. I was told if I ran it with upgraded springs that I would have made more power to about 7800 roughly. Here is my dyno chart:

Those numbers are pretty impressive for a D16Z6 with bolt-ons and a cam. Sure gives me hope for the future, did you ever had a chance to track your car with that specific set-up? Off topic what are stock B16's pumping at the wheels? Not trying to start a b vs. d war... please don't start.

95 cx hb. 16in rota c8s with dunlop tires (dont know what kind) back seats were taking out.. thats about it.

I run a Crower stage 3 (63443Z) cam and I love it. I use smash on s2000 on the streets (
i know) all time when i was running this cam.

I ran a best of 15.6 w/ full interior on Nitto 555R's. Had no traction though...too much moisture on the track. I was told I could do a lot better...and I know I could. On the street...I took out a GSR swaped EK coupe, B16 EF, a B20 vtec Integ, and a GSR w/ I/H/E/IM, and skunk2 chip.
Oh yeah...and my car was an EX coupe (2500lbs roughly w/ me in it)...so if that same setup was in a DX coupe, or even a light hatch...it would really move.

A buddy of mine put a zex 59300 cam in his z6 swap with i/h no exhaust and ran 15.1xx.. I drove the car and did felt alittle better lowend to mid but nothing different highend..

ill only believe that when i see a slip, but if its true, thats a freak motor and a half, did he have slicks, no intake upgrade or intake manifold, did he have an upgraded suspension, 13's would be crazy for that set-up even in a cx, i am sorry but i need a slip
