...and the cx has the cat on the header, so its different too.

EDIT: if you're getting an aftermarket one it won't matter.

96-00 cx and dx have a catalytic converter on header. Otherwise the rest are the same.

Yes. In factory form the vx and cx have a catalytic converter that comes directly off (connected to) the manifold. The dx, lx and ex have an exhaust manifold and then a separate catalytic converter directly in line with the cat back exhaust.

Unless you really NEED a new header you might as well just leave the factory manifold on. You will see little to no improvements in power in swapping the header on the 1.5L.

Good luck.

His enigne could breathe so much easier if he put a z6 exhaust manifold on his d15. That d15 header sucks.

If you decide to get a header you can always do the entire exhaust.

Get a header and catback designed for an EX.

That way you get the header like you want, and you get a new exhaust system w/ cat that will bolt right up.

If there is nothing done to the engine and if you don't plan on doing anything to the engine I wouldn't go any bigger than 2"-2.25" on the exhaust.

z6 being the d16z6 engine. You need to get a catalytic converter as well if you plan on doing a full exhaust. It would go header--->cat converter--->cat back exhaust. You can get any header that says it will fit a d-whatever engine. I wouldn't recommend going over 2"-2.25" on the cat back. Get a cat converter for a dx/ex/si.

Does anybody have anything to add or any corrections to make?

I would just get an exhaust system made for a 92-95 Si Hatchback, along with a header for either an Si HB or an EX coupe.

If he gets a full catback for a Si Hatch he will get a new undercar cat with his exhaust system, and the header for the Si Hatch or EX coupe will bolt right up to the motor and to the new cat that comes with his exhaust system.

catbacks don't come with the converter.

My mistake. I was under the impression they did.

I bought mine used and the guy told me that he sold the cat that came with it.

Getting a header and catback exhaust is pretty much changing the whole thing. Only thing left for you to pick up would be a cat, which you can get a high-flow fairly cheaply.
