Default 92 Honda Civic DX Transmission Swap

I am wanting to locate or install a SI manual transmission. Will a manual transmission from a CRX fit? The SI manual transmission has a diffrent gear ration than the DX in the hatchbacks. I am wondering if a manual Tranny from the last year of the CRX will fit? Any clues or info will greatly be apprieciated.

Yes, you can use a transmission from a CRX. However, the EF transmission were cable transmission, while the EG transmissions (your car) were hydraulic. So, if you did use a CRX transmission, you would need to get all the parts to do a cable conversion.

I would recommened searching the classifieds, or local junkyards and getting a EX/Si s20 transmisson. Those are the best transmission that will work with your motor.

Like I said, I would suggest looking around your local area for an EX/Si transmission for your car. I don't have one for sale personally, but there are bound to be quite a few people around your area who do.

the transmission from a EX/Si of the 92-95 civic or the transmission from a 96-00 EX will work. The only difference between the two are what the shifter forks are made of. These transmission has the best gear ratio and have the big bearings. To know if the transmission is a big bearing transmission, look above the tranny drain bolt for a circle with a number/ B000 inside of it. An A000 number means it's the small bearing transmission which means it's from either a DX, CX, VX =
