important heat question

Default important heat question

My heater doesnt work on my accord. The AC works but the heater doesnt. it is like regular fan air comming through. please tell me what could be the problem.

There is a cable controlled Hot Water Control Valve mounted to the firewall (Engine side) which could either be frozen shut or the control cable could be disconnected or broken.
You're going to have to eyeball it to confirm the lever moves whenever the heater control is worked.

first, is your cooling system leaking? if not you could have an open tstat causing the car to put out little or no heat. if the water valve is working this is what I would check

If the hoses which go to the heater core are hot to the touch, I stand by my original prognosis.

I'm not sure whether your 5th-gen is the same way.

If these are not the problem, check under the dash on the right side of the console where the carpet meets the firewall and find the lever that the temp control **** is actuating and make sure it is fully closing the air mixture door when you switch to heat.

It should take maybe 2 minutes to check all these things. I think temperature **** stripping out is by far the most common.
