Default Long Beach motorcycle show--some pics (56K ez duz it)

Just wanted to share some pics of what I thought was interesting at the show.

Here's Colin Edward's bike (missed his auotgraph session). Quite something else to actually see it in person.

This is his office.

Trick bits.

Note the heat shield.

Test rode a Buell City Lightning too, missed the Harley demo rides. The thing is a torque monster! What a blast (no pun intended). It was a cool 6 mile ride through downtown Long Beach. Got to gun it on some straights, heck, the lead Buell corporation rider would it gun it on every straight! took some long curvy off and on ramps too.

Here's the line of bikes.

Here's the ID on the bike I rode.

Cockpit for the City Lightning.

there was a crazy stunt show too. I'll try to post up a crazy vid later.

there were lots of really juicy bikes. MV Augusta was there with their new Brutale, new F1000 (I think that's what it's called) as well as Aprilia with they're new Tuono (I'm partial to naked bikes). Of course, the usual suspects were all represented as well. Didn't take a lot pics of those as I've seen them all in the mags.

All in all, a great show, well worth $12.00 and the drive down.

Good pics and work distraction Very cool to be able to test ride for that length of time/road. Definitely worth $12 to hit the show for just those two attractions, much less all else.

damn I went on Friday so no Buell test drive... I'm kicking myself for not going back. The Buell City feels so comfortable, how did you like it?

The Edwards bike was not roped off or anything? Looks like you were able to get pretty close to it.

thanks, yeah, i was thoroughly pleased! the stunt show was pretty cool too and everyone at the show was really cool. i guess you can't help but be in a good mood surrounded by all those bikes!

I like it a lot. The translucent tank isn't really that cool and you really have to look to "see through" it. I like the off-road touches, like the bars over the dual headlights and the handgrip protectors. It's too bad they don't have a great reliability reputation. I really wish I could take it for a spin on some twisities though.

The bike was roped off but the rope was like right around the bike, probably less than a foot away from it. you could basically stick your hand in there with the camera and get a real close shot.

Not a picture of Colin and me (sorry to disappoint!), but here's one I snapped of a friend and CE dos.

Not to each other. And not on themselves.
