What's going to be cost for my enitire project?
I was wondering what the cost wil be to:
My car is a 93 Honda Civic DX Coupe. got it for $900..the car is in MINT condition, the reason its so cheap cuz the motor has a leak headgasket.. So please dont tell me just to get a manual. Its hard to find one in good condition for cheap.
Plus I have about $4000 to spend.
Swap from Auto to Manual.
4 wheel disc brake conversion.
And also give some info on widebody kits and there websites...

There is no point on trying to making a automatic honda fast.
My best advice for you is to fix any outside and engine problems and sell it for $2,500 and use that profit to get a manual transmission ex/si civic and then turbo charge that sohc vtec motor.
Putting in a new headgasket is very easy, if you know how to work on cars already.
I see that you're from MN. You should join this minnesota forum too.

Did you not read what he said about swapping his car from an automatic to a manual? I did my swap for about 1400, however I did have a shop do the work for me but I did get all the parts. The parts cost me roughly around 700 for everything.
If you did the swap yourself, it could be done for around that I would imagine.
I'm not too sure about the break conversion. Would you be going with OEM front/rear disc or an aftermarket setup?

expletive you.
Did he ask for you opinion? No. He asked how much his tranny swap and break conversion would cost. He didn't ask what we thought about the choices he was making with HIS car.

Wow, 2-0 JDM-EJ1. H-T, you may want to consider thinking before you type.
Anyways, I like the four disc brakes. Not only does it make for a nice little cosmetic upgrade, but a serious increase in stopping distance. Just make sure you do it correctly by using the multiple threads on that topic.
As for the tranny. I would sit on my $4000, wait until you have about $5500, and drop a penny or two into an H22 or a B18C5. Both of which are great swaps depending on what you do. Your transmission won't be useful if you decide to by a swap in the near future. However, if swaps do not interest you, go for it.
As for the bodykits, just know what you're getting into. I've known plenty of guys who invest in a nice body kit, but never get it done 'right', meaning a half-*** paint job, or it not being put on the car correctly. I say pass on the kit, but its your call.

Here was the thing with my car, I am planning on swapping in the future but I also wanted to get my car up and running (my tranny went out). At the time, I only had about 1500, so I bought all the parts needed for the tranny swap.
Now, I do understand that if you buy a complete swap (HMO, etc) it does come with a lot of the parts needed, but it leaves out a lot of the small stuff.
It's your call man, tell us what else you want to do and we'll answer your questions the best we can.

Let me state!
N/A sucks! Boost is Best!
Boosting your sohc will yield more power than a itr or H22 n/a swap and cost alot less too.
Unless you plan to make 400+whp then you might want to go DOHC route, but I assume 250-300whp should be more than enough for you. And that sohc will not have a problem putting out that much power if you do it right. A good condition stock sohc vtec turbo charged can yield 350whp if done right. I've seen it done too many times before
Can you say stock sti & evo killer!

yeah...but what eventually he is going to want more power and a d series is only going to go so far. swap a b18c into that beast, then turbo it if you want to. everyone who starts with a turbo project always wants more eventually...

True. However, boosting his D series will give him plenty of power, a lot of power that a lot of people would be happy with.

not a wide body kit... but http://www.andysautosport.com sells extreme dimension body kits in the 350-450 range, and their fit is outstanding.
the shipping should be reasonable also. i live in iowa and i believe i was quoted at like 140 shipping.

What ever route you plan to take to have a manual civic. Remember to think things through and ask us guys that's been there already to give you advice.
For example one of my brother's buddys.
My bro gave me some info about his car already.
It's a manual dx '93 civic & has bodykit & vertical doors & just I/H/E.
I say to my bro's buddy "Is it fast?"
He states "I like to go for all show only" all cocky standing next to his car with his doors flapping in the wind.
I say "So you don't care if it's not fast?"
He says "As long as it looks hot & gets me places I don't care"
I say "So you spent $7,000 to make it look nice?"
Him "yeap!"
As we head out to MOA. What do you guess he does on the freeway. He revs his engine at me & gives me a cocky look like he's faster or somthing just because his ride is hotter. He downshifts and wants to challenge me. In my head I'm thinking this guy's a total gay ricer and total hypocrite since he said he didn't care if his car was slow.
I then downshift and pop my bov at him and his jaw drops and I let him pull away first. Then I unlease my car, while passing his hypocrite *** I hit the hazard to **** him off.
When we get to MOA he's just like "Dude, your ride is okay. I should of turbo charged my car too."
I'm thinking inside my head "You say my car is just okay, just okay! I just handed your *** to you."
I know for sure he had that OWNAGE feeling tingling all over ...lol...
I hate to make people feel owned but some guys just needs their *** handed to them.
So the lesson is!
Always have power to back you up no matter how ricey your ride is.
Go for speed first & then looks.
We all hate to see hot cars getting owned.

I am pretty good at fixing cars {that's my opinion}. What I really want to know was the cost for parts and more info on WIDEBODY KITS and the website were I can get it from...
I am rebuilding 2 D16 block, {D16Z6 and D16A6}. But one of the blocks has a chip at the bottom near the crankshaft but its not on the cylinder, and I was wondering if I could use that. I will get some pics for tomorrow with my digital camera.
Most body kits are ugly, but the EG aint too pretty stock, and the JDM version is even worse.
Shop around, and with the 4 grand, you could get a new motor, if anything, get a Y8 with a good manual transmission can be had for like a grand. A full brake swap will cost you around 500$ unless you buy a 5-lug on here, then itll be more like a grand.

The only wide bodykit for a civic is the feels widebodykit. That widebodykit makes the civic look like **** because of the sharp angles. My buddy had it on his car and I hated how it doesn't flow with the car at all. You're better off with a nice bodykit and call it a day.
The rear widebody section is what I hate the most about that widebodykit.

It just depends where the chip is at exactly. Get that picture up so we can tell if it needs to be fixed or not.

I'm just chiming-in for discussion-sake...
NA engines can be every-bit as capable as a turbo engine, so try not to put too-much of your personal bias into this discussion.
And yes boosted sohc are extremely capable setups; however 350 on a stock block is totally rediculous. The stock-blocks are good up to 200-250 range if tuned very-well. Even reaching 350 on a built-block is tough to do w/ a turbosohc. I just don't want this kid thinking he's going to reach 350 on his sohc-turbo b/c you mislead him.

For example people use to think boosting a stock gsr motor couldn't handle no more than 300whp.
There has been so many boosted stock gsr motors making past 400whp already.
You can have the best setup, but it's all about the tuner that'll decide if it'll last & make power or blow up.
Never under estimate
