Default Raising compression without touching the bottom end

I have a '00 JDM ITR motor with stock compression (11.1:1). I have tried lots of cams with the stock compression and have come to the conclusion that I need some more compression to make the power I am looking for (going to be using Toda B cams).

I plan on using two of three layers of an OEM headgasket and milling the head slightly (10-20 thousandths). I believe that this would put me close to 12:1.

Do you this is enough compression for the Toda B cams? Thoughts? Opinions?

Flat faced valves and milling the head 20 - 30 thousandths. A lot of people have told me not to run a 2 layer head gasket. I'm in the same situation as you.

11.1:1 c/r and I don't want to change pistons either.

does removing 1 layer of the oem headgasket create any issues for piston to valve clearance? I have a b18c1 w/ jdm ITR pistons and will be using the Skunk2 Pro1's. and as for the flat faced valves, i was going to get those but the guys at Ferrea and Supertech both told me that the raise in compression is so slight and the valves are just heavier than std valves. overall it didnt sound to me like it was worht doin.

Milling the head .030 would be a good option. I don't think it'd be worth it for new valves, they don't really justify there price and amount of work required. Milling my head only .010 raised my compression by at least .2 so .030 would be pretty substantial. Sometimes i think my compression is also maybe too little 11.2:1 with Skunk stg. 2's. You have a certain goal, i'm guessing over 200whp?

shave the head and your valve reliefs .030, remove the middle layer of an oem headgasket, and use omnipower flat faced valves. That should get you right around 12-1. Im not a fan of toda b's, there are better cams out there that will make better power.

I agree, Toda is sick if you have the money to blow on it, but for much less you can much more cam and more power! Good luck.
