Coil Over Question
I have a set of skunk 2 coilovers off of a buddys 2000 ITR and i am ordering koni yellows and was wondering if the springs will fit the konis for a 94 HB or if they are a different in the rear since it is a ITR
Skunk coilover sleeves will not work with Koni shocks. Because Koni uses an adjustable spring perch, you are not able to install a coilover sleeve onto it without being in danger of failure when driving. You must use special sleeves that are designed to sit directly on the adjustable snap ring without the spring perch in place at all.
If you are thinking about using the skunk springs from the coilovers without the sleeves, forget it. Sleeve kits use springs with flat ground ends on both sides. The OEM style lower spring perch requires un-ground spring at the bottom just like OEM.
I suggest you ditch the skunks anyways (they suck), and install the Koni's with your stock springs. Since the koni's have multiple spring seat locations, you can lower your car just over an inch without having to worry about a thing. Then I would save up for a while & buy some Ground Control coil-overs that will fit the shocks perfectly. The best part is you can get custom spirng rates to match your application (plus the lifetime warranty)...
