need help with a/f ratio and timing (crower 404)
I'm having problems with timing and A/f ratios! On a mustang dyno with a wideban we are trying to create a chip for my obd1 P75 ecu!
I would like to know what base (or at idle) timing and timing up top I should be aming for? ( me 16.5 and 20.5..anymore and i was pinging up top)
Note: with the cams at 0,0 we couldn't get the car to idle when in normal temp...with the best chip that the tuner could creat I only put down 129 whp and 106 ft-lbs of torque on the mustang dyno ...didn't make power up top? Now my cams are -1 int. abd +1 exh. and my car idles!
My setup! 98 jdm b18b, crower 404, skunk 2 cam gears, p30 pistons, ARP rod bolts and head studs, stock intake man. and TB, 2 3/4" intake, 4-2-1 jdm b16a headers with 2 1/4" collector, I will take off cat for a test pipe, 2 1/4" cat back, CTR toda flywheel and act stage 1 clutch! ( comp is 11.2:1 )
I have posted allot of question lately but I'm in Ottawa Canada and the two only dyno tuners haven't done a similar setup!!!
Thanks for any help again LOL

I have read that you have to retard the timming at idle ( base ) with this cams and advance it has much as possible in the top end!
I know base stock timing is 16 so I was wondering if 14 was a good starting point...also want to know how high people have been bringing there timing in the top end...I've heard that b series engine will go up to like 28 or so???
