Purchasing a 2000 S2K with very low miles.
Long story short, I am an Integra owner who recently was hit and car is going to be totaled out.
Coincidentally, the Acura dealership my car is at just got a 2000 S2000 trade in w/ 18k miles on it. They want $19,900, it is white with red interior.
What are the things I should be looking at here with a 6 year old S with only 18k miles on it? It seems the rear diff fluid should be changed at 15k miles, correct? Also, is having so few miles detrimental to the vehicle in anyway? Anything else I should be looking for?
I would like to get them down to 18k or 19k even for the car. The thing is amazing looking, some lady owned it so it is not beat on at all.

That is wrong. There is not a single person who buys this car and doesn't beat on it. Last time I instructed on the track, I had a S2000 owner as a student. She was a 68 yr old lady. She was actually a decent driver. Do not ever think a car hasn't been beat on especially a sports car with low miles. Think about it, it was probably a weekend only car. What would you do with a weekend only car? You beat on it each and every time you took it out.
Now for the car, I wouldn't pay more than 18k for the car. They more than likely gave the owner 15-16k tops on the trade in.
In terms of things to look for, just make sure all the fluids have been changed. I do mean every one since the car is 6 yrs old now. Make sure the recalls have been taken care of as well.

Definative recall list for 2000 S2000?
I have found three recalls on several different website sources.
1. SEAT BELTS:FRONT:ANCHORAGE
2. SEAT BELTS:FRONT:RETRACTOR
3. EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS
Am I missing any other recalls for that year?

I don't know of anyone that had to go through those ^^^. I DO know a number people with bad #1 cylinders and worn wheel bearings from the axle nut TSBs. No recalls though.

Definitely bring it down to 18k.. bring up the fact that the car is 6 years old when you're negotiating.. and as always, make sure to ask from them free car fax report...also have you driven it??? Definitely check the clutch and have them replace it if it needs to be... Nothing wrong with being paranoid about getting a used car because, well it's "used"..
