2nd gear slipping

Default 2nd gear slipping

alright well I kinda want to check to see if its the tranny or the clutch. and to see if anyone has any experience they want to share.

so 1st gear is fine it whines alittle but shifts okay. but second gear will slip out at low rpms at random. also if I hit a bump it will pop out if I am at low rmps. its a competition stage 4 clutch. with an LS tranny.

reason I ask is b/c I am most likely going to get a gsr tranny but before I do I want to make sure the clutch is okay.

check ur mainshaft bearing and ur throw out.

those are both in the tranny right? any hints at an easy way to check those?

Sounds like your mainshaft bearing and/or a bad 2nd gear syncro.

oddest thing I got my tires replaced today and for some reason it doesnt do it any more. it will stay in gear how. any ideas?? but 5th gear still whines almost screeches when in gear and give it gas.

those are both in the tranny right? any hints at an easy way to check those? well it sill slips at low rpms. but not higher than 2000. but 5th still squells any ideas on what it could be. flushed tranny fluid tried syncro mesh now going with a gear shock red line tranny fluid. any help besides replacing the tranny would be appreciated.

Sounds like a syncro issue. I would check that before driving hard, otherwise you might just lose a perfectly good clutch if it dies.

what would be a good way to check out if its the syncro? how would that mess up my clutch? sorry for all the questions but I wold rather look dumb than have to replce parts for no reason especially cause I am broke.
