1/8 mile....haha.
im looking for a 1/4 mile. i would really rather not have to drive all the way to palmdale.
dont people tend to run a little slower in palmdale too?.....because of the altitude.

Cali Speedway in Fontana is relocating thier strip to a different spot on the site, and its supposed to be an NHRA approved track

Any Idea of when that is going to happen? If I move back to CA I will live no further than 20min. from a track.

California Speedway has Street Legals about once a month on saturdays....but you'll only get like 3 runs in all day.
you can check the website for details: http://www.californiaspeedway.com
that and irwindale are the only local spots to go to....and Pomona once a year.

If you want to know what is going on in so cal, listen to Speed Scene Live at http://www.speedsceneracing.com anytime. Fontana is your best bet but dont limit yourself to saturday night street legals. You will not get many runs and the track is not as good as other events. Try PSCA races and Summit ET races at Fontana for lots of runs, and fantastic track prep. Fontana will not have the new track open until spring, but will be racing on the old track until then. It's a great track, too!
LACR is still there and will not be going away for a couple years at least.
And Irwindale is really fun, with the best 60 foot times around. Don't knock 1/8 mile racing, it's the second best thing to a quarter mile.
Also, if in San Diego area, go to Barona!
Want to hear when the tracks are open, and what kind of events they are running, just watch Speed Scene Live!
