Default HONDA CBR600 F2 -- need info and opinions

What's up guys. After my cousin gave me a ride on a '04 R6 I was hooked. He let me ride around an empty parking lot just for kicks. I'm getting ready to register for the safety course and purchase my helmet/leathers after christmas.

Anyway, my brother is selling me his '92 F2 with 17,000 miles. The bike runs extremely well, but it has an aftermarket bodykit which is fugly. I'd like to buy new fairings and get them painted. What's the price range for a bike paint job?

Also, can you give me any links to REPUTABLE bike parts sites?

Thanks

Best place to get plastics parts is ebay. Hopefully you can peice it back together using the same color scheme so you dont have to paint it

eBay for bodywork. As for painting, there is a vast range of prices you could pay. I'm assuming it's your first bike - don't bother with the plastics. Just ride the damn thing.

As for bike parts, I highly recommend Terra Powersports. Awesome customer service. And they have some of the best prices around.

Don't order from MAW. They have horrible customer service, lengthy shipping times, and their prices aren't really competitive.

don't spend money getting it professionally painted. This is your first bike so just invest that money in gear. If I were you, I would just rattle can it. If you prep it right, it will be a cool paint job.

Get the new plastics and paint job you want after you've been riding for a while. F2 is a great starter bike. You'll have lots of fun. Keep the rubber side down

I've decided to just ride the bike the way it is and spend the rest of my money on a good helmet, leathers, etc...
