I feel for you man. I tracked down my car myself. Po Po reported my car "recovered" the same night i reported it stolen on the SAME BLOCK. God dam po po. I found that out after I found my car, and the idiots didnt notify me of anything and took the plates off the hotlist.
I went through the labor of tracking the car down myself. I dont know about California, but if you guys have tollways with an Ipass or Ezpass system, you can track movement of you car. I tracked my own car by monitoring Chicago online ticketing system. It showed up this week for a street cleaning ticket (abandoned obviously). The online database is like 3 weeks behind the real time i figured out
. So, i called up the parking bureu and asked about the address of the ticket issue. I picked it up myself with my fiance. Police yelled at me asking why i didnt call them to check it out first ... morons, the car wasnt even listed as stolen to begin with due to "clerical" errors.
Car is back in my hands.

Hopefully you'll get the car back, and since it was stock maybe all they wanted it for was just a ride. When my car got stolen the cops found it the next morning parked in Long Beach on the street with the windows down and the ignition on the floor. All my personal items in the car were gone, but they left their music behind as well as their own keys.
When my brothers car got stolen the cops found it like 2 weeks later at south coast plaza becuase the security finally called in that it had been there for a while.
