Help with 91 intgra gs
my friends 91 integra gs has a busted cam we thinking of our options, we dont want to buy oem parts so we were thinking of like a vtec head or new cams to make a little more power. Im not to fimilar with this motor so if any one can give us a few tips we would really appreciate it.
also since the motor has 200k almost, maybe a full swap? what motors would be easy to swap isnt the 90-91 da's OBD-0?
Thanks,
Ryan

The motor is b18a1. it's obd0. you can, for more power:
1. get new cams for the b18 head
2. put a vtec head on the b18block (you'll have to drill oil lines)
3. swap out motor - any b series will work. b16,b18c, b18c5, b20 etc... they are all easy to swap.
The motor has 200k...that's not bad. unless you have the money for it, just keep the b18a, otherwise swap it for more power...but it's a honda motor...keeping up with standard maintenence will keep it alive for thousands & thousands of miles to come.
