Default will a leaking heater core always leak inside of cab?

I own a 95 SOHC accord non v-tech 4 cyl. anyways i have been having trouble gettting the heater to warm up all the way and noticed that there was a leak coming from right below the heater, but there is nothing in the car.

any help would be great

according to DeserHonda yes and I would agree with him since he is a tech at a honda dealershp.

the heatercore is located inside the cabin, so thers really no hwere else for it to leak but inside the cabin, right in the foot well

99% of the time, yes. I've seen leaks at the hose/core connection, but generally they leak on the engine side of the firewall.

If the inside of your windshield has a light oily film on it, that would confirm the Heater Core leak.

okay i think i found the leak, it is coming from the seam where the thermostat is... i guess i will take it off and see what the deal is... easy enough

that really doesn't help with my heater prob though, unless that leak (pretty small maybe 8 oz over 20 min) would make the coolant not heat up enough on the heater core..

any other help would be great.

What if it doesn't allow enough coolant to flow through your heater core?
