called about doing an LS vtec swap they said they don't provide vtec any ideas on what he means? on their website it says they do ls vtec swaps if anyone out there has done an ls vtec swap let me know what they mean and if $!280 is a reasonable price for the head and gasket with labor also oil lines wondering if he'll charge more to make it vtec.

Sorry posted this in the integra forumn but didn't hear much coming from them.

 

i believe what they meant by "they don't provide vtec', meaning you have to find and buy a vtec head. which is around 400+ for a complete head, and the prices vary from b16 vtec heads to b18c-1-5.

 

he said the $1280 included the head, I might go there this weekend with a list of parts and see which ones I need for the swap, but if anyone has dealt with them please give me any feedback.

 

i have never dealt with them, but hookups is on here, and seems rather knowledgeable

 

excellent just pm'ed them 1280 for the vtec head gasket and oil lines he said I would just need a way to activate it ecu or vtec controller...

 

get an ecu and just have em tune it at the same time

 

talk to them in person, show up at their shop and explain what you want, and have them give you a full quote for everything including management and tuning. Don't let them tell you $1280, than you still need some more parts and labor and your numbers skyrocket.

Hookups Chris is very helpful, he has done swaps for me in the past. The other great product that they offer then most is there inhouse dyno that I've also used as well. They have a great helpful crew, you should have no problems.

 

im not a big fan of hookups...everytime i go in there they just stand there and ignore me. i start to ask them how much dyno time is and they give me short answers and are dicks. id recomend Rage Performance in montclair. Jason is the ****.

I think you have that backwards Chris is Jasons cousin .and Chris is not the dick.$1280 is a good price.Infact I don't know how they can do it for that price.That must be without the ECU.If its an LS you need A new oil pump and plastic cover so the timing mark is right.$$$$
Anyway I would much rather have Chris do it than Jason 100%

I have your header, i was talking with jason and you got brought up and he said you guys dont get along...whats that all about if you dont mind me asking?

I go there often, and i dont think the shop is quite that big for them to ignore you. I don't think they have done anything to harm you for you to be calling anyone names.

personality conflict.And its always about him.Me me me.Just the other day he got a hold of me because he wanted A header like yours.I gave him a price ,But it was to high for .And he told me that he dynoed your car before and after the header.I asked him how it did and he wouldn't tell me.But he wanted one.Its just stuff like that.If I asked Chris how it did ,He would send me dyno sheets and make sure I got them.

Hook-Ups the guy that is always in the front counter, dont know the name, is cool as hell... the times i have been there he has answer all my questions... once he gave me and my bro a mini-tour of the place ....

 

I would definately recommend Hookups. They do great, clean work, and do it right the first time....If he told you 1280 thats a great price and would jump on it. Chris is the best tuner I've ever dealt with and I've been to just about every dyno in so cali. Definately recommend Hookups.

 

I know a couple of people that have been there. they said everything went well. Theres a couple of (909) shops that I heard due great work like One honda specialist

 

I'll vouch for chris ... very cool guy

Jason is a great guy. He has helped me out with my car on several occasions, even let me pick up some parts from his house at midnight on a race weekend so I could get my car going for eliminations the next day.
