Joining the Prelude Croud
Even though i loved toying with my older hondas... I felt the need to change to something a bit more well new. I just picked up my first Prelude, a 97 5sp with 147k, although i do not have pics yet (was gona snap a few but... yeah its pitch black out side) its body is in great shape, had a fresh paint job about a month before i purchased it was changed from red to gunmetal/grayish don't know the exact name, looks like pavement actually heh. Before i got my prelude i didn't really look into any info about Preludes i just loved the body styling. I just wanted a bit more of a modern car, something i didn't have to hand crank the friggin windows and such
.
Before u flame yes i am searching... but I'm planing on doing some maint on it just to get it through winter. Then summer maby I'll do some tuning to it but not till the salt and **** is off the ground. I'm wondering what most ppl prefer for mtf/oil/spark plug preference/wires/fuel filter and any other normal maint that should be done to the car. And I'm guessing already about 90% will rec. OEM Honda but I'm wondering about outside the factory.
SO just working my way into the prelude community n' sayin Hullo
Any advice u got to give I'm all ears... until then i'm going through posts

hey welcome to H-T!
nice to hear you're joining the crowd. i started out like you too bought it because I liked the styling, new, didn't want to modify it, left it stock for about 2 years...then one mod led to another. the next thing you know, you're turning heads with that beautiful thing...ahhh. there aren't that many companies out there that make parts for our cars, but if you search hard enough, you'll find a few. goodluck

ok, 147k miles. Here's what you do...
change your oil
change your oil filter
change your trans fluid (I think it's 5w40)
change your plugs
change your plug wires
change your distributor cap
change your rotor
change your timing belt
change your auto-tensioner to a manual (from H23)
change your water pump
this is all standard stuff...
as far as brands go, that's up to you. If you can't think for yourself and need us to make a decision for you, then let us know.
