accord suspesion HELP!!!
i have kyb shocks and skunk2 -1.8inch springs with the eibach 19mm anti-role bars and upper swaybars as well as oversized brebo brakes. Unfortunately, after all this money my ride makes this terrible clunky noise when going over bumps. i want to swich to coilovers but will that get rid of that hideous noise. it makes me crazy. i just had a jg engine built at 650 hp at 33 lbs boost. so i neep the pimp **** and have been leaning toward tein ss w/ pillow mount but some say it isn't what it's cracked up to be? HELP!! What do you racers rely on. my car is a 99' accord sedan
There's nothing that immediately jumps out as to your selection of components, so we have to consider a problem with the concept, or a simple mechanical 'oops'.
I'd look for either missing suspension bump stops, or out of position bushings on the sway bar frame mounts. Either will cause a clunk sound over bumps.

I've looked at everything so many times and have personally wrenched every nut super tight jus t in case. everything is perfect as far as i can telland this has brought me to beleive that the shortend spring can be the olny thing to possibly make the noise. i think that when my car rides over a bump and the suspension travels the springs are maybe clunking around because there is play due to the shorter spring? only thing i'm coming up with. thats is why i want to ditch my suspension all togerther and go with coilivers. thinking they will stop the problem
It's only because I'm cheap (frugal) and I don't subscribe to throwing money at a problem that I make these suggestions.
This is where a ramp lift and a Muscle Monkey comes in handy.
If you can duplicate the condition by bouncing the suspension while on a ramp lift, you may be able to locate the offending component by getting underneath and feeling around as your buddy bounces the suspension.

i've actually tried that and couldn't figure it out, nothing was loose but with the suspention in the air, the spring mearly floats around the strut so i figured the smaller spring is floppin around on bumps. i hear this noise in many loweredvehicles and many say it is the spring settling or some dumb **** but i think skunk2 springs just suck. actually, i htink any lowering spring will cause it because it jusst doesn't fit in the suspension tight on most cars. what do you guys think
i was reading som other forum and some guy was talking about his coilovers rattling down the road. i thought coilovers wern't rattley. could it be because there might not of been pillow mounts on them. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!!! I CAN'T BARE TO HEAR MY CAR RATTLING AROUND ON BUMPS. ESPECIALLY SINCE I POUR EVERY PEENY I CAN INTO IT.
