I saw a thread over in the ITR forum a while back about trying to get that forum back on track, whatever that track may be I am not saying. At the time I thought that was crazy, because I tend to think the ITR forum is one of the best on HT. Now I find myself wishing for the old days, when folks actually talked about car parts in the DC5/EP3 forum.

I guess what I am referring to are all the sales threads (there is a specific sales thread stuck to the top of the forum), how much over MSRP are dealers selling FG's for and look what I found on ebay. None of these things are related to swaps, FI, sticky tires, aftermarket radios, suspension setups, etc. I am asking our forum members to try and stay on topic, any topic that is at least mildly related to the functionality of our cars.

It seems this forum always has had low participation, due in large part I am sure to the unpopularity of the ep3. Now it seems like we are meandering as a group, myself included from time to time, and the mods are being forced to lock thread after thread.

I dont know if I am out of line posting this, but I do know I used to really enjoy this forum and now I find very little of interest and I hope to stir up a little discussion.

I personally think the forum when south when it was opened up to "other" Hondas. Don't flame me, the ones who post stupid stuff know who they are. I agree, where did the tech go?

unfortunetely honda tech is not where i get my technical information anymore...all that is done on club rsx. I just come here to help out the noobs every once in a while

 

Even this thread is not tech. But the ITR forum is NOT the best, in fact, its the worse. I went there a month ago. First page, 80% were not tech related. Of the 80% is split down the middle: Pics of my R!!!!.....and....someone stole my R!!!

Its like, this is a tech site, not a whine and bitch site. No one cares that your car is stolen, were tuners, not cops. We used to have a rule in the EG/EK forum against "what do i do next" threads casue they conform to a bandwagon (the JDM rice ****) and show no creativity to the creator. We have a appearence section, we need a "stolen car" forum so that the tech forums can stay tech, and throw all the garbage into one pile.

ALso, we HAVE classifieds, and we used to have rules against selling in the tech forums. Thats why we have PMs. For suggestions on mods, we need to group them, or people talk one on one via PM. We need some semi-honda-tech related chat room in cyberspace somewhere for the jdm idiots to talk about how stupid RHD is and why flat black Spoon rims on a red car are ugly.

I didnt want to be the first to say it, but I agree.

 

You would not believe the crap that I move/delete/lock on a daily basis. You think it's bad now...

All I can say is...start posting technical information. Over on clubrsx you are a god if you post even something remotely technical, so those looking to get their egos stroked seem to go over there.

I've been watching the trend with the New Si and was going to make a post about it so we don't see 10 different pricing posts. As for the other stuff, yeah, there is some off-topic stuff, but getting a new forum for them won't happen anytime soon.

 

I have only been around a short time on H-T but I agree sometimes this forum becomes stale. I feel for the mods who must log in and have 300 windows pop up of all of the FS/WTT/WTB threads that are posted in here that have been reported.

Part of the issue might be the RSX people going to CRSX like was said before. I do frequent that site alot but I will have to say you can find very good technical information over there if you look in the right places. Other parts on that site do, like Todd00 said, become flame-fests/post ***** threads etc.

Perhaps an official "how much did you pay for your 06 Si" thread might be nessecary. I can see millions of these threads coming in the near future if there is no set thread for it.
