Out of the loop!!....Help me rework this civic Si!!!
Ok just picked up a 99 civic si from a kid who half assed everything, so im redoing it.
I have a $1000 budget and here is what im wanting to do.
Replace the body kit with factory bumpers and sides, with lip kit
Plugs/Wires
Replace his Generic Intake
Replace his Generic Exhaust with full cat back
Replace his Generic Coilovers with Springs
Replace Slipping Clutch with decent Clutch
That is all. Nothing spectacular. Can it be done? If so please give me recommendations as to what brand and such. I have been out of the loop for about five years.

Actually here is the deal...I had a 98 hatch with a build 2.0 and boost....Was hitting 327 on low boost. Problem was i got married and she won't drive it , which is fine because im no where near a tuning shop. I couldn't maintain it. So i traded my car for the civic si and some cash....
I know im cutting it close. But does anyone have any recommendations for parts?????

This is what I would do.
Find the body parts on HT for cheap.
PLugs and wires NGK for both
Replace his exhaust with an ES Oval and new piping.
His coil overs with some Eibach Sportlines or H&R or some Skunk2 coils or GC coils
Replace clutch with a nice used ITR one w/flywheel.
if you do all the work yourself you can do it under 1k.

I would just stick with the generic intake. Why blow $150 on a tube that'll give you 1 or 2hp over the one that's on there?
Exhaust- just look in the classifieds. I bought a HKS Supper-Dragger for $100. I think they're usually between 500-750 brand new.

I agree to keep the intake and look for some nice used parts. If you can unload the body kit on somebody else, you could make a few bucks back [or even straight trade that for someone with the stock parts].
