Default Who's running DA front brakes on their EF???

Hey, i had a couple of ?'s about DA front brakes on an EF. I have a 91 crx Si and wanted to throw some DA front brakes, what is the smallest size rim i can run without it touching the caliper? If i were to run 99-00 civic si rims, would i have any clearance issues? Also, I was reading on some other posts that the without a drop or lowering of some kind, it messes up the camber of the car......any more info on this???? Thanks.

I searched but didnt find anything specific!

99-00 SI wheels will be fine, smallest you could go without getting into crazy offsets would be a 14" rim. no camber issues as long as you get an alignment and use the CRX A-ARMS! dont use the integra ones.

I had OEM 14" steelies on mine (for paint), thats as small as you can get over the DA calipers. 14" or larger will clear fine

well i was trying to search specific, thats y I didnt put "front brake" cause front brake could mean any kind of brakes.....i was looking specifically for DA brakes. I searched, "DA Brakes", "DA Integra Brakes", "DA" and didnt find what i was looking for, so actually it wasnt a lie.

Yeah, your post covered the camber thing......i just threw that question in b/c i kept hearing different opinions......I wanted to know about the wheel size more than anything. So what happens if u use the DA A-arms with an EF? Does it really screw up the camber or just is easier/better to put on? Can u be more specific with that.....

the a-arms will expletive up the camber, and have you NEVER EVER seen a DA or something? i mean hell you can look at any DA on the streets and see how small is the smallest wheel, panasports being an exception, but i dont see people running 13" panasports on the streets much

15" will be fine.
most 14" wheels will work but i know if you want hx wheels to fit you have to shave the caliper

Alright, I'll stick with 15'' wheels.....and what happens if u use the DA A-arms, lower the car, and get a camber kit? Will this solve the camber problem completely? Cause i'm planning to do all the above......unless u HAVE to use crx a-arms

i have used the DA arms i dont know what everyone is talking about i think its another honda-tech myth, after an alignment which you will need anyway i had NO problems with toe/ caster /or camber being out of spec, i did use the crx anchor bolts and not the DA ones maybe thats the difference because those were different, the arms themselves are identical in lenth and width and where the ball joint is located

well i used the eg kuckles w/ the ef a-arm..gave me a really positive camber...lowered the car about 2"..sitting on 15" rims w/ 195/50/15 tires..went to the alignment shop and my camber is almost dead on center..little on the neg. about .02

you know you can also use 90 and 91 4 door civic ex knuckles to get the same brakes, and you dont have to worry about camber issues at all.

Bryce;

You can put 14" rims over DA brakes. If you recall my EF from the Ventura meet, I've got 14" HX rims over the DA brakes on EX knuckles. It does require some grinding on the caliper mounting bracket.

There is a dimensional difference between the EX knuckles and DA knuckles!! The EX knuckles are dimensionally the same as your original CRX knuckles. The DA knuckles place the upper ball joint upward and more toward the center of the car.

Installling the DA knuckles on a CRX will result in more positive camber (moving the top of the wheel outward). On a car that is lowered, this can be a good thing. If the car isn't lowered, it could result in more positive camber than you want.

I just bought the 90-91 ex... I heard to many different opinions about the DA fronts..

sooo.. Just to be safe Id stick with getting the EX ones.. to keep the geometry the same as what the CRX came with..
