Im looking at upgrading my radiator when I swap engines and I have searched and found conflicting anwsers. I also looked up the radiator part numers and found that they are different. Which radiator to use Del Sol Vtec or 99 Civic Si?

The Del Sol VTEC is a dual core radiator; I'd go with that one, but you can use either.

Damn what's the deal with all the same-type radiator topics lately? this is the thiord one I've replied to today!
Anyways go to http://www.radiatorbarn.com and order a radiator for any 92-95 Civic - they are all "dual core" because they only make automatic versions, which were dual core just like the Del Sol VTEC.
If you don't trust mail order stuff, then try your local Auto zone (gasp! I'm actually recommending that shithole?!) and ask for a 92-95 radiator and pull it out to see if it's the double thick like it should be.
BTW:
Dual core radiators are not a necessity, but if you're already in need of a new radiator you might as well upgrade, right?

They are both dual cores. the only difference that I have found was the mounting points for the fan. I bought a 99/00 si radiator for my eg and the eg fan would not bolt up.

Chill, The hose nipples are different sizes between the dohc anc sohc models. THAT IS WHY I needed the correct model. I also was making sure MY FAN WOULD FIT.
The sure-fire fit is the 92-95 civic automatic unit - fan bolts right up, and it's double thickness just like the Del Sol VTEC.
I wasn't being rude in my other reply bro, I was just making an observation, that's all.

The SOHC has a different inlet and outlet dia. than the DOHC. And as dwnthehatch stated the mounting points for the fan are different. I need the larger outlet size for a B Series correct fit.
99-00 Si came stock with a single core radiator. so please stop saying it came with a dual core.
as for the original poster. del sol vtec would be the correct application for your car.

People assume too much. Oh, this has a better motor so all the other parts are better too, right? Thats how the stupid JDM fad bullshit started. Since its got a better motor, I'll bet the brakes are better too, and its got a larger radiator. People need to do more homework.

Listen Up I need the radiator anyways because it has a bigger neck. B-Series radiators have a larger water inlet and outlet. Asking a damn question on here is like insulting someone. Nothing about this post is JDM. Hands down the Si does have a better engine and better brakes.
