Windshield Wiper not moving correctly - 2000 Honda Accord
Has anyone else had this problem? The windshield wiper is not stopping where it should and is smashing into the hood.. Dealer already said it would cost 300+ to fix it.. Anyone else have a simple solution for this? Thanks, All help would be appreciated.
It might be simple... Loosen the nut at the pivot of the wiper. Wiggle & pull the wiper until it comes loose. Reposition the wiper & tighten the nut.
If that doesn't work it could get expensive like the dealer said. If they've actually looked at your car maybe they're right.

I suspect they're looking at the Windshield Wiper transmission Assembly (Number #8 in the linked Illustration).

Honda's wholesale price ($109.30) is NOT what they'd charge you (more likely $145.00) Plus Labor, Tax and the never mentioned "Don't expect him back" Fee.
This leaves $155.00 towards the Labor charge. At $70.00/hour, that computes to a little over 2.1 hours to do the job.
At that price, I'd shut my mouth and have them do the job. If it's what I think it is; they won't be able to come near completeing the job by that amount of time.
