I've learned not to use anybody on ebay that don't except pay pal. That is the radio I want, but if they don't except pay pal then something is wrong and ebay will warn you not to use them.

Yeah if they are using a OE picture and not a picture of the acctual product somthings wrong. Also I noticed most of the time the scams are coming from over seas so I would avoid over seas auctions all together. I had one I bid on a computer and ebay ended the auction and sent me a notice that this was a high jacked ebay account. They steal your account info and list auctions under you name so to use your positive feedback. I have been buying and selling on ebay for quite a few years now. If somthing is to good to be to true it most likely is.

What was it anyway?

And I do agree, if it's too good to be true, then do not risk your money...and no need to ask me how I know this.

In that sort of case, send a message to the buyer. Ask several questions, and ask them to explain in detail why they can't come up with the real picture.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust non-paypal auctions, but I was buying stuff before paypal was integrated on ebay. The last item I got was a set of vitara pistons, sent the cashier's check, got perfect unused set of pistons/rings for $30 less than normal.

BTW, what was that item, service, or whatever? It was deleted before I looked.

it was the new Alpine Touchscreen indash dvd. It sells for 1000 and I won the auction at $300. I have spoken with the seller and he even provided a phone number. Seems weird cause he said he would take any currency? hummm. I haven't paid yet, and I don't think I will.

Update: Went to check my messages and got this:

VThe following is a notice from eBay Trust & Safety regarding:

Item Number - 5839520999
Item Title - ALPINE IVA-D310 7" TOUCHSCREEN LCD/TV DVD/CD/MP3

Our records show that you placed a bid on this item. We removed this item from the Site and cancelled your bid because it appears that the seller's account has been compromised and used by an unauthorised third party. The seller's privileges to trade on eBay may be temporarily suspended while we investigate this matter further. Due to privacy concerns we will not be able to share further details related to this seller.

If someone claiming to be the seller asks you to complete a transaction outside of eBay, we strongly recommend that you ignore the request. Transactions for items listed on eBay that are completed outside of the eBay marketplace are not covered by the Buyer Protection services offered by eBay and can be highly indicative of fraud.

******* scammers!!! good thing I didn't pay.

Can't believe you even contemplated paying.
Greed does marvelous things to people, it throws all rational out the window.

I got that same email for a pair of Nike shox I bought. After I won, I wondered why nobody else was bidding on them. Well now I know. If the don't except pay pal I don't use them...

LOL!! My friend not too long ago bought a Pioneer indash DVD that sells for like $1500 or whatever. He paid for it $500, and the seller was in Greece. And this is how the story ends.

This listing (5839520999) has been removed by eBay or is no longer available. Please make sure that you've entered the item number correctly.
If the item was removed by eBay, please consider this transaction canceled. If anybody contacts you to complete the sale, please ignore the request. Completing the sale outside of eBay may be unsafe and will not be covered by eBay purchase protection programs.
