Default 92 VX hatch gauge cluster light problems

My gauge clusterf lights stopped working last night. Just the lights for the speedo, tach, gas, temp. The battery, oil, and I believe the high beams all work. I checked the fuse. I need a good starting point to trouble shoot this problem. I have searched on here but the threads didn't seam to have a resolution to them.

thanks

pull the cluster and check the illumination bulbs. if one bulb goes out, it could cause all the lights to go out. i think the illumination is done in series circuit.

Now I am thinking that I don't have rear light either. I have checked the fuse under the dash. Is there any other place I need to check the fuses at?

help

there is an additional fuse box in the engine bay next to the battery. check all those fuses, however the illumination and exterior parking light fuse is inside the main cabin. the dimmer would not affect the exterior lights. check your fuses carefully, use a meter or a test light.

update: Well we got a chance to look at the lights today. It seams all there was with the rear lights was that they neaded bulbs. The cluster light were a different story. It seams that the person befor me ghetto-rigged a aftermarker gauge between the red/redwhite/black of the dimmer switch. The plug was cut off and the wires were jamed up into the dimmer. So I put the red and black together and called it a day. I don't need a dimmer, so now the interior lights come on 100% with the light switch.

Not sure. I had 2 red wires and a black wire. Just do what I did and a have a few 10 amp fuses in hand. you got a 50/50 chance

OMG. if you jumped it to make it work and everything works, the red/black is left alone... that should be your illum +. you connected the black (ground) to the red (illum ground) and got everything to light up 100%. well since you don't use the left side for anything anymore, go get yourself the JDM coin pocket.
