Default koni yellow question

okay...so i first posted this in the appearance forum and have been bumping it up for the last 3-4 days but no one has been able to help me...im wondering if ill have some better luck with ppl in here...here's my original post

I have eibach sportline springs and was wondering if anyone else is using these springs with koni yellows...can you post pics of what your ride height looks like, i have searched through most of the threads and cant really find pictures of cars with lowering spring/koni yellow combos most pics are of ground controls with koni yellows...i wanted to see pics of any cars with a lowering spring/koni yellow combo, but especially pics of dc2's with this combo...thanks alot

if you do post pics...can you specify if your wheels are 15's or 16's...thank you

By changing the shock, it's not going to effect your ride height at all, unless you use the lower spring perch on the Konis.

The distance between the current circlip groove you are using and the groove you are going to use will be the height difference. The bottom setting of my front Koni Yellows slammed my car when I had H&R Sport springs. You aren't supposed to use the height settings with aftermarket springs though.

i was under the impression that the yellows had three different settings...youre telling me that youre not supposed to use the bottom (lowest) setting if i have aftermarket springs??am i supposed to keep it on the middle one??...also why cant you put it on the lowest setting? thanks for the help

Fronts = 2 settings (stock and lower), Rears = 3 setting (higher, stock and lower)

Yes

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by streetlights &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">am i supposed to keep it on the middle one??...</TD></TR></TABLE>
Upper on front, middle on rear

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by streetlights &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">also why cant you put it on the lowest setting?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The alternate grooves are made to lower or raise the car with stock springs. If you lower the car with the perch (25mm front/15mm rear) and with lowering springs you will get a cumulative lowering from both the car will be effectively lowered too far with insufficient spring rate. At that point, I would expect the car is going to be living on the bump stops unless you wrongly remove them.

No, it will be at the same height as it is now; those are the 'stock' perches.

The lower perch is only for the use of "stock" springs. The only other time they are used is for ground control coil-overs...

Here is a pic of the cir-clip in the upper location. For more pics check out the "Koni shock install" thread at the top of the susupension forum...
