you are most likely gonna have to rebuilt the transmission. When you hear the torque converter whining it has already sent metal through the transmission.

Go to the local honda dealer and tell them whats wrong and ask if there are any TSB's on the transmissions in your year accords b/c there are several and I guarantee its covered by honda. I know for sure that the 2 problems I've had w/ my tranny were covered under the TSB's even though I didn't know about one of them and was out $950 last Feb. My tranny just screwed up again this past week, its going in on monday to the dealership.

there was a bunch of those trannies that had crap differential bearings, the bearing rollers flaked off steel chips that contaminated the entire trans, they usually caused the axle seals to leak because of too much play in the diferential, You can grab the inner CV joint and move it up and down a 1/4"

It probably does need a new or rebuilt transmission. This is somewhat of a common failure. You could just clear the code and drive it.... see how long it lasts, but it's not going to get better by itself.

Good Luck
