what do you mean by 'dull'??? the paint is dull, or the lens is getting foggy??

Also... did you paint the whole silver housing piece, or did u tape off the circular ring and inside the square ???

 

one side is dull from the fog and no i did not paint all the silver parts black i taped wat i needed to tape up and looks exactly like the ITR originals

 

very nice... are you the one that wrote that DIY setup on Team-integra?? Im going to try a DIY project on my sir-g's... if I expletive em up, I'm gonna get yours if they're still available.... isnt there a way to get rid of that fog??? someone told me there was a sanding/buffing combo to get them back to perfect...but I could never find it!! do you know??

Exactly what kind of paint did you use??? ive got mine apart, taped, trying to figure out what kind of spray paint to use... please let me know...

i used flat black paint and taped the shrouds and high bean out line and then sprayed....

this is a good buy... I DIY blacked my sir-g lights, you cant even tell the difference... and as far as the lenses, with wetsanding and buffing you can take out ANY scratches or foggyness...

mine were in horrible condition.. but they look braaaand new now : )

go to any car painting supplies store... you need an electric buffer with a compounding pad and a foam polishing pad.... depending how deep the scratches are, start out wetsanding (I used 400 grain to start with,then moved up to 800, then 1200, but my scratches were very very bad...) and get all imperfections out... wetsand finer and finer until you are at 1200 grain.... then use 3M perfect-it II rubbing compound... it straight up says on the bottle that it will take out scratches 1200 grain or finer.... buff that compound out with the compounding pad to remove all the fog from sanding.... finally, use 3M polishing pad glaze with the foam polishing pad to polish the lights and make them look perfect and shiny and brand new... easy as that! I spent a lot of time and effort on mine, being sure to get all the scratches out....The more care and time you put into them, the better they look... this works on all plastics i.e. taillights, USDM turn signals, USDM headlights... whatever! I'm actually still working on them but i will post after pics when im finished.... if u want to see the before pic, search my name for topics created... i made a post.. any other questions, lemme know! glad to help...
