IACV tips anyone??
Hi, currently mad at my ride..
Need help! I own a '00 GSR and it's giving the following code:
14 IAC (EACV) - idle air control valve
I already checked on the 92-00 Civic Forum for a code description but it didin't said what do I have to check or replace in order to erase the code. 'Cause I know that if I reset the ECU the code goes away but it'll pop right back once I floor it on the highway! And I also have this same problem on my Si and I used to remove the IACV and clean it with some carburaetor cleaner and put it back in.
Any other suggestions? Glad to hear them!

If your car is throwing a IACV code then you need to check the IACV.
You can pull the valve off and connect it to a 12V power source (Battery) and you should hear and see the valve moving back and forth if the valve is working. If it doesn't do this then your valve is probably no good.
You can also try cleaning it like you mentioned earlier.
