Default question for you guys who rebuild bikes..... 99 gsxr 600

this bike has gone threw a few friends, the bike was built for the track but the only guy to ride it hard was the first owner and since then it has been with some squids that like to pose next to it. so this one guy was riding a wheelie and his chain broke, it took out the case, and some other things. So a buddy of mine bought it and he is willing to sell it for 1500$.
the bike has a port job, and some cams put in it. with full suspension upgrades (not sure what it is) its a nice bike.

what do you guys think? is it worth it to buy it and replace the case?

is it cheaper to find a motor on ebay and just replace the whole thing then to replace just the case?

***** iam a total newbie when it comes to working on bikes******
thanks guys

My vote is for Pass.

If it's your first bike, you don't want to be dealing with a lot of trouble. And this bike sounds like trouble with a capital T.
