He hit that at a pretty good clip. Either he was way over the speed limit and was actually trying to slow down, or just didnt see it. Based on the way he ran straight on into it, I'd say he just didnt see it.

The gas station is on a corner and there's probably a stoplight there. Can anyone tell if the car had the turn signal on? I think the biker sped up to make the light and couldn't slow down in time. Notice how the pickup comes to a stop and the suv comes up to the right of it. Car was in the turning lane for the light so the biker might have thought that it was going to continue to the intersection, not turn into the station.

when i wrecked, more than 4 or 5 cars not only drove around me and my bike to keep going but one honked because my bike was "in the way"
