Default EG + H22

Let me start by introducing myself. My name's carl, I'm from Ohio, and I'm starting a new project.

I know this isn't a new concept or anything, but it's probably what I'm going to do. This will be MY first Honda. I was in the middle of a ZX3 project until a couple nights ago..RIP . Anyways, I kinda liked my Dad's VTEC Accord and I like the the EG hatch. Mechanically, I'm more than capable of an engine/trans swap and I have the garage/tools to do it. I've been looking at H22A engine trans swaps. My questions are:

1. What are reliable sources for the H22 swaps and what is a fair price?
2. Should I consider different engines and/or trans?
3. What else do I need to "make it work"? I'm assuming I'll need mounts, axles, and such, but again, I'm new to Hondas.

Any advice is welcome.

Thanks,
Carl

welcome to H-T

If your interested in doing an H22 swap into an EG, check out this thread.

HMO is a good place ot get the swap at. Always hear good things about them.

Also, remember to search before you post. Chances are it's been covered before.

EG + H22 = Understeer

Look into some decent suspension if you're set on this particular swap.

I figured I would be getting into a little more understeer than I would want, but I didn't know the extent. Are there any specific suspension setups or kits that would give me a more balanced feel? My ZX3 handled beautifully and I definately want this car to handle just as well. Another thing, this might sound dumb, but do I need to swap a JDM cluster to go with the H22a? I've been looking through HMO..for the h22 package, the tranny w/ lsd is $300 more...Is that good investment or will I not be satisfied with what I assume to be an OE lsd?

Thanks to everyone for your help.

do some more searching in suspension forum. but in a nutshell, just get stiffer rates in the front and a rear sway bar, and you will be fine.
