Default What was the rarest option that was available for the 88-91 CRX?

I asked this question on a different CRX site and didn't really get anywhere so I'll ask you. What was the rarest option that was available for the 88-91 CRX?

I have a US CRX that has a leather wrapped steering wheel, mud flaps, center console, mats, bra wCRX stitched in and plastic wheel arches.

I thought I knew all the options that were available for the CRX but I was wrong.

Now for the kicker.
I bought a second CRX tonight and that one has oem foglights and get this, a louvered back window. I didn't think this was an option but the people that I bought it from bought the car new and have every reciept and it even has a Honda part number. It is also a radio delete model and the spot where the radio goes has a flat plate with raised Honda lettering.

If I remember right, I sent you a copy of the Foglight instructions for your teal rex.
Am I right?

The rarest options for USDM CRXs in no particular order -

OEM Foglights
Stereo Equilizer
OEM Armrest
OEM "CRX" lettered floormats (the least rare).

The factory louvers are fairly rare but really aren't in demand (I have a some in my shed. Came with my '89 Si). The stereo delete plate is interesting but not rare (I believe you can still buy one new from Honda). Wheel arches are are also fairly rare but were added to alot cars sold in the snowbelt.

One of the most rare Honda options i know of came from a JDM CRX EF8 i brought in this last summer. It had an original Honda optional leather shift boot with stiching.

There is a woman that lives close to me and she has a hb with these rims on it. They look sweet and are in realy good shape too. I was thinking about asking her iff she wanted to sell them.

That price is if you installed it yourself. The dealer wanted ~$1500 if you bought the car with it installed.

I think that is custom, and not a factory option.

I've only seen once the factory Stereo Equilizer in a 90/91 rex for sale back in the mid 90's at a used car lot but they wanted over 9K for it at the time. That seemed pretty high but now that I think of it the car was only 5 or 6 years old.

for a USDM option, I'm going to have to say the equalizer.

I have the foglights, louvers, mudflaps, radio blankout plate, sunroof visor, armrest, but i've never seen one of those in person.

Yes, if it's an original 88-91 Honda Stereo EQ (fits below the radio where all other CRXs have a storage compartment). This isn't just any EQ from any year Honda. I'm not personally interested in one but I doubt you'd have any problem selling it for a healthy profit.....

My list was only for USDM options. There were literally hundreds of EDM and JDM options that weren't available in the US. Everything from the SiR model to bumper poles. Leather seats, power windows, power steering, the list goes on forever. I have no idea what the rarest EDM or JDM options would be. Now I'm kind of curious, what were the rarest EDM and JDM options?

Oh and the tan leather interior was from the CRX "Exclusive" model (the Holy Grail of rare)......

ok this is a little off topic, but I know a kid who has a 1989 crx SI.. it has SI door pannels, but the one door was taken off another crx, the one SI door pannel has no seatbelt on the door and no hole in the door pannel for the seatbelt to go, the other door has an SI door pannel with the seat belt on the door. I thought the only crx's that came with seat belts on the pillar thing are 89 HF's.. the door with the seatbelt-less SI pannel, looks original or ment to be there on the pillar also..

all 88 models and some 89's had the belts on the pillar. Everything else had the seatbelts on the doors.
